What will my certificate look like?

In the following post, we will be looking at the certificates successful candidates will receive when passing either the City & Guilds or IOSH qualifications.

The 18th edition

The Level 3 Award in the Requirments for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018 is the qualification awarded to candidates who successfully pass the City & Guilds 2382-18 examination.

At the time of writing, this post; canddiates will still receive two certificates from City & Guilds. The first will be the same as the PDF above, an electronic certificate. Canddiates will normally receive this within 5 working days of successfully passing their 2382-18 examination. The electronic certificate is the official version and can be used for renewing or applying for memberships to the Competent Person Schemes like:

NICEIC
https://www.niceic.com/

NAPIT
https://www.napit.org.uk/

Or when applying or renewing ECS cards such as the JIB Gold Card, ECS Labourers or Trainees cards.

Electrical Certification Scheme

The certificate displays the candidate’s name and the centre where they attended the examination.

It is very important that when canddiates complete the enrollment process they use the name they would like displayed on the 18th edition certificate.

At the bottom of the certificate would display the candidate’s enrollment number, unfortunately for the purpose of data protection, I have removed this information. A canddiates enrollment number is three letters followed by four numbers.

The enrollment number is unique to each candidate, and should you take additional or further City & Guilds qualifications these might be electrical qualifications or non-electrical qualifications you should always ask the centre that is organising the exam to use this enrollment number when completing your registration with City & Guilds. It will link all your qualifications together and make retrieving replacement certificates much easier should you need them.

Within four weeks from your examination date, you will receive a hard copy version sent to you in the post. Should you not receive this copy version within four weeks from your examination date you must contact us to arrange for a replacement. After four weeks canddiates will be charged an additional fee for a replacement.
